Guided Walk: A Nidderdale High Way

8.30am – 7pm approx.

The availability and meeting places/times of this walk are subject to daylight hours, access restrictions and Brimham car park opening times.

Sorry but dogs are not allowed on this walk due to sensitive environments and access rules.

Recommended clothing and safety elements:

Sturdy walking footwear, long trousers, waterproof jacket and trousers, spare warm layers, hat and gloves should be carried at all times of year.

A packed lunch and enough energy snacks and water should be carried to sustain a strenuous 9 hour day.

This route takes in varied terrain including thick and rough heather cover on the moor so appropriate ankle-supporting footwear and long trousers must be worn.

Hard: strenuous long distance walk


No restrictions but under 18s must be accompanied by an adult who will remain responsible for them throughout the walk


A reasonable level of fitness is required and the ability to walk 18 miles over sometimes rough terrain including some stiles and thick heather.

Number of participants

Min: 2, Max: 12 (1:1 and larger groups negotiable)


£170 plus transport costs (usually £5-£10 per person dependent on group size and available transport)

£170 fee is a flat rate for the group – not per person.
Happy to negotiate for small groups (5 or fewer participants)

We start from the National Trust car park at Brimham Rocks. Parking is £6 for the day or free for NT members and the car park remains open late in summer.
